THE MARCHES PILOT ACHIEVES THE SUPERPOLE AND A DOUBLE VICTORY (PRE FINAL AND FINAL) THEREBY MATHEMATICALLY ACQUIRING THE TITLE. IN THE ‘REGINA’ CLASS CONSIDERABLE PERFORMANCE ALSO FOR PARROTT AND TOMAN, WHILST IN THE KF2 IT IS JACK HARVEY WHO OBTAINS A GREAT SUCCESS IN FRONT OF HIS COMPANION, WEARING THE SAME COLOURS, FRJINS.
Mariembourg – After the exceptional Suzuka weekend where the KF2 Asia Pacific title was presented to Harvey and the podium in the KF1 World Cup to Cesetti and Toman, the Birel colours were confirmed to be at the top in the 4th race of the 2008 WSK.
The Marches pilot Sauro Cesetti (Birel-Tm), in fact, dominated the scene in the ‘regina’ class achieving, with one race still to go, victory in the championship.
For the Birel Motorsport’s expert pilot it signifies a prestigious and significant success, moreover because it has been obtained in a championship of more than one trial race, whereby underlining the technical experience otherwise unobtainable by a single event.
The competitiveness by Birel in the KF1 has been constant on every circuit and under all weather conditions, but during the Belgian weekend in Mariembourg it was expressed in a very exact way, by allowing Cesetti to achieve superpole on the Saturday, pole for the Pre-Final after the eliminating races, thereby gaining a double success in both the Pre-Final and the Final.
But it was not just Cesetti in the KF1 to be noticed, in fact, Janson Parrott (Birel-Iame) showed himself to be a pilot who was both quick and valid when he gained 4th place in the Pre-Final and 7 place in the Final.
Toman (Birel-Iame) also gave a positive performance, even though penalised after bumping in the Pre-Final and by a 10” penalty in the Final (for not respecting the starting line) which deprived him of 2nd place.
Birel’s technical competitiveness was better expressed in the KF2, where the English pilot, Jack Harvey (Birel-Iame) gained 5th position in the Pre-Final and a net success in the Final, preceding his companion, Robin Frijns (Birel-Tm).
Once again Andre Hauke was in the foreground by acquiring 5th position in the Final.
However, the weekend was less fortunate for the Birel pilots in the KZ2: the French pilot Mich gained 5th position in the Pre-Final and 6th position in the Final, whilst Laudato obtained 10th position in the Final after experiencing a few problems in the eliminating races.
