2008 CIK-FIA KF1 WORLD CUP ASIA
PACIFIC KF2 CHAMPIONSHIP SUZUKA, MAY 23-25, 2008
THE FIRST
INTERNATIONAL TITLES AWARDED AT SUZUKA
BIREL DRIVERS AIM
HIGH BOTH IN THE TOP CLASS WORLD CUP AND IN THE KF2.
Suzuka –
International karting will be on the scene in Japan from the
23rd to the 25th of May for the KF1 World Cup, an honour second
only to the World Championship in terms of prestige and importance.
The KF2 Asia Pacific Championship will also be raced, as always
a very important event in the Asian market. Two important
international events that will therefore have all of the principal
builders and official drivers on the track along with many
Japanese drivers who will attempt to profit from the “home
playing field”.
In the top class
there will be six Birel drivers with the export, Cesetti (Birel-TM)
and the young Libor (Birel-Iame), both expected to be among
the top players in the event. But even the Englishman Parrott
and the Japanese Ishii have the credentials that allow them
to aim high.
They will be opposed
by the usual adversaries, from Ardigò and Stevens to
Forè and Catt. On the other hand, in the KF2, there
will be over 40 racing for the titles and among the Birel
drivers are the names Amberg, Basz, Harvey, Patrono and Viganò
who will be in the race with numbers 101 through 105.
But besides the
strongest European drivers like Suvanto and Camponeschi, there
are also many Asian drivers in this category and, therefore,
any forecast is difficult. They will certainly be high-profile
and spectacular races. To follow the races in real time, go
