Welcome to the official Birel S.p.A. website. In the name of Birel philosophy, which has always been targeted to customer service and technology, we have created a karting portal: the focus is on products, debates with engineers and drivers, reviews of tracks and information on the key issues of our sport. Birel is leader on the web, too.

125 Super ICC-World Cup

THE VICTORY GOES TO GANDOLFI

THE LAST SIX WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP APPOINTMENTS OF THE 125 CLASS HAVE BEEN DOMINATED BY BIREL’S COLOURS. A RECORD BOUND TO GO DOWN IN THE HISTORY OF KARTING.

The Birel colours shine in the Cik-Fia World Cup Super Icc, bringing the score of victories in the World Championship to six in a row in the gearbox class. In Mariembourg, it’s Ennio Gandolfi’s turn to climb the top of the podium, succeeding to Robert Dirks, and finally conquer that success in the World Championship he had always been missing, after two junior world titles in the 100 Junior class and despite a career at top level.

Gandolfi finishes before his teammate Laudato and Toninelli, after also winning the pre-final. Cesetti performs very well, too, crossing the finishing line 6th, the first of the drivers with Bridgestone tyres. A detour at the start to avoid a competitor at a standstill jeopardises the race of Quintarelli (running on Dunlop tyres), thus ending up 16th. Birel’s supremacy is witnessed at the starting grid, where 4 out of the first 6 positions were taken up by Birel karts, with Solgat fitting in among the big ones. The German driver ended his race 13th after Frenchman Carette.
