KART GRAND PRIX - 2011 PREVIEW

NEW TAG BY BMB SERIES TO LAND ALSO IN ENGLAND IN 2011

A long testing day at PF International circuit to present Kart Grand Prix - UK Series

KART GRAND PRIX, the new TAG series promoted by BMB, will start off also in England in 2011. UK Series was officially introduced by Andy Cox and Paul Deavin, the managers of a dedicated company which will be in charge of UK Championship promotion, commercialization and customer care.
Thorough testing, carried out by Michael Simpson during the new Series shakedown at the PF International circuit, proved that the potential of new BMB engines is absolutely brilliant. Performance wise the engine, combined on such occasion with a Birel chassis, achieved timing 1" faster than  Rotax Max and just 5 tenths slower than  KF2.
Great results also considering reliability, as no problems occurred in over 2 hours racing. Also George Robinson, special correspondent for Karting Magazine, was positively impressed with such reliability assessment test. And right the combination of dependability and performance will stand out as the strong point of this Series, which is already operative in Italy and ready to take off also in Greece, Spain and other countries.
Obviously, talking about Regulations, also the English Championship will opt for free brand and model chassis without front brakes and two categories: PRO with minimum weight 162 Kg and MASTER, 172 Kg.  VEGA XH tyres will be employed, following the positive test results which assessed them as long lasting and judged their performance better than that of the SLs adopted in Rotax Series.  Commercialy speaking, it must be pointed out that the fully accessorized version of the engine (plate, carburettor, electrical system and exhaust) will be on the market at 1695 Pounds + taxes.
First consignments are scheduled 1 October on and you can book your own engine now (info on www.kartgrandprix.co.uk).
Michael Simpson commented on the test:”Absolutely brilliant engine, mainly running low regime and performing as well as a KF2 one. Same reliability but much cheaper to maintain. I also greatly appreciated the VEGA XH tyres, which give excellent chassis feeling and top performance.  I am sure this Series will become a great favourite, also because a number of drivers and teams can join in by simply buying the engine and continue racing with their usual chassis brand."
