KZ1 & KZ2 EUROPEAN CHAPIONSHIP VARENNE (FR), 27 JUNE 2010

BIREL DRIVERS PLAY THE MAIN ROLE IN BOTH CLASSES

CIK-FIA 2010 European championship for KZ classes is over with the 2nd and final round in Varenne (France), following the first seasonal race hosted by Sarno track, Italy. As known to all, the leading builders deserted the event, opting for WSK, yet Birel colours were brilliantly represented by a number of drivers and teams.
Among them, Thomas Mich starred in KZ1, with a brilliant 3rd place in both Race 1 and Race 2. The French driver closed the great weekend ranking 3rd also championship wise, just behind winner Lammers and Iglesias. Fantastic team performances for Birel drivers also in competitive KZ2:  Pizzuti finished 4th in Race 1, preceding Fuchs and Midrla, while Fuchs was 6th in front of Benoit in Race 2.
To complete the picture, the two races were respectively won by Visser and Pesce and the KZ2 title went to Italian driver De Conto with Midrla 7th, Pizzuti 8th and Fuchs 10th.
