SEAT POSITION

On Birel chassis, the seat must be mounted with the standard ca 124 cm measure (shown on the upper border of the seat itself) to the steering column support on the front part of the chassis F.

If medium-hard tyres are used, it is possible to move the seat back 2 cm further. The back inclination, on the other hand, varies according to category and is measured from the axle, with the chassis “high” up to the border of the seat G.

In the KF models it usually starts at 22 cm, while in the 125 cc KZ the back is set at 21 cm. The seat can weigh heavily in the set up of the kart, therefore much care must be given to position it correctly, being sure to also set the ballasts in the correct manner.

Our advice is to set them to the side of the seat and to not make the two fastening holes too far away, in order to avoid stiffening the seat and consequently the chassis. In terms of adjustments, setting the seat forward increases the front grip and, consequently, setting it back improves braking and rear stability.

If the back inclination centimetres are increased instead, traction is reduced and lateral setting in slow curves is improved. On the contrary, pitching the seat more towards the axle improves both the traction while exiting a curve and braking stability.
